The BIPAC-645 provides 4-port 10/100 Mbps auto-negotiating Ethernet switch for connection to PCs or small office network and one 10 Mbps Ethernet port for a DSL modem or cable modem. There is no additional hub or switch needed. Dozens of network users can surf on the Internet simultaneously by using one ISP account and a single IP address. It allows all users in a local network to be quickly and easily connected to high-speed Internet (via DSL or Cable service) using PPPoE or PPTP-client. The ISDN Router is built-in and acts as an automatic backup when the DSL/Cable service fails or if the service is not available. In addition, the BIPAC-645 supports remote ISDN dial-in and remote access. Sitting between your computer and your broadband modem, the BIPAC-645 acts as a firewall, protecting your computer from unwanted intruders. The BIPAC-645 supports Bandwidth-on-Demand and Dial-on-Demand. Depending on the data flow through an open B channel, the BIPAC-645 will establish another B channel connection to allow greater data throughput.
