1xN All-Optical In-Line/Span Port SpyderSwitches provide permanent passive monitoring access ports for 100% visibility across multiple networks with the leading distributed management and security devices. These Matrix Switches support monitoring and analysis of any fiber topology, including ATM, GigaBit Ethernet, 10 GigaBit Ethernet, and more, The all-optical design allows this Switch to be used with any fiber topology, eliminating the need for multiple units. 1x4 and 1x8 models are available. 1xN In-Line/ Span Port Switches offer all the benefits of both types of Switch in a single unit. A single distributed device can view all traffic from any connected link or nework switch span port, extending the reach of critical monitoring tools. In-Line Ports feature passive link integrity, enabling the network to operate at a continuous flow regardless if power is available to the Switch. Span Ports support all the flexibility normally associated with network switch span ports, including VLAN monitoring. Many ease-of-use features are incorporated, including LED displays, front-mount connectors, and intuitive software. With the latest PortRover software, network managers can name each network link, plus have multiple options to control which link is being monitored. In the first method, switching between monitoring any connected link is as simple as clicking on the software-based keypad. The next option is 'Automatic' mode, where the monitoring device continuously repeats cycles of monitoring each link for a predetermined period.
