The device can be connected to the satellite receiver through the analog connectors. After the easy to handle software installation one is ready to receive analog television in excellent image quality and with adequate stereo sound. Special attention with the Cinergy 800i PVR was spent on the function as a digital VCR. The recordings are compressed (MPEG2) directly in the device and then saved on the hard disk in DVD quality, which preserves valuable system resources. Even with older systems a trouble-free recording is possible. Thereby everything is simple to serve: start a recording of the current TV program or a scheduled recording with just the push of a button. Afterwards the finished files can be edited via the software. Advertising blocks and other interruptions can be removed without professional knowledge. Additionally, the Cinergy 800i PVR offers an adequate hardware MPEG video grabber, so video recordings from analog sources become a child's play. Simply connect the VCR or DVD Player to the audio and video connectors (Composite, S-Video, Stereo audio). Older videos can be edited or legal backup copies of newer DVD movies can be created, if no analog copy protection is present.
