This license key is used to enable advanced features - notably OSPF routing and GBIC Fabric Interconnect for geographically distributed XRN phase one fabrics - on SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 and Switch 40x0 families of core Gigabit Ethernet products. To use this, devices must first be running the 3Com Gigabit Multilayer Switching V4.0 agent, available for download for units purchased after October 7, 2003 and provided under Agent Upgrade Service for products purchased previous to this. 3Com's GMS Version 4.0 is the latest feature release for SuperStack 3 Switch 4900 and Switch 40x0 family devices. The advanced features of GMS Version 4.0 provide for OSPF for high performance routing that scales to large enterprise networks.
