Designed to be the most economical in a DAS environment, the Adaptec DuraStor 6320SS storage subsystem is a fast, flexible, scalable, easy-to-manage solution for SCSI-to-SCSI centralized data storage. It is best suited where security is paramount, and where fewer than three servers share data. This is the optimal solution for distances of less than 25 meters, and where a few RAID storage enclosures will meet the storage requirement. This external storage subsystem offers improved storage availability and scalability than a PCI RAID solution. The subsystem enhances performance by offloading data from the server CPU to the external RAID Controller. The DuraStor 6320SS is configured using a SCSI-to-SCSI RAID controller enclosed in a 2U SCSI drive enclosure with hot-swappable power supplies and cooling fan module. The installation of an optional second RAID controller adds host-independent active-active failover/failback features.
