The OmniSwitch 6600 series are stackable, multi-layer workgroup switches that enable carrier-class availability and intelligence in the wiring closet and at the edge of the network. These new switching products are part of the Alcatel next generation OmniSwitch family and designed for IP Communications and mission-critical environments. Featuring an innovative virtual chassis technology, the OmniSwitch 6600 allows administrators to configure and manage a stack of up to eight switches just as if it were an eight-slot chassis switch. For secure management, many features are integrated into the architecture including authenticated user access, SNMPv3 and SSL for encrypted sessions, and partitioned administrator management. The OmniSwitch 6600 offers an ideal solution for workgroups, edge applications, IP telephony and LAN wiring closets.
