The Allied Telesis' AT-2745 cards are designed to get the maximum performance from your PC. By off-loading almost all of the Fast Ethernet networking functions to the adapter card, the CPU in a computer is free to run applications faster. The card also operates in both full and half duplex modes, allowing the user to double the performance of the network. By providing a wide range of fiber adapter cards, users can choose the card that best serves their needs. Where users are installing Ethernet fiber today, but are considering Fast Ethernet fiber for the future, then the AT-2745FX is the ideal choice, as it supports both standards. Amongst a set of advanced new features, PermaNet failover technology brings an unprecedented level of fault tolerance. It provides a vital secondary 100Mbps Fast Ethernet back-up link on the pipeline to the server, the most heavily used path in a network. In the unlikely event that the primary NIC fails, the secondary NIC automatically re-establishes the link. The back-up link is automatically and transparently engaged and maintains connection until the primary NIC becomes available again. The PermaNet failover feature can also be combined with load balancing and port aggregation to enhance the throughput of the network. Multiple physical pairs of links can be aggregated as a logical interface to improve the effective bandwidth and throughput of a network.
