FTTH networks provide broadband services to home users through a fiberoptic infrastructure. In the home, users require simple to install copper cable to transport Ethernet and Fast Ethernet between their computers, set-top boxes, Internet telephones and other devices. This range of wall mounted access switches provide the interconnection needed between the fiberoptic cable and the copper cable. Different broadband service suppliers use a variety of fiber optic connectors available today, and Allied Telesis has created a range of wall-mounted switches to ensure compatibility with any provider. Installing these switches could not be easier. A simple metal backing plate is secured to the wall using two screws, and then the switch simply slides into position onto the backing plate, and is anchored using two screws. Connect the fiber cable into one connector, and the power and copper cable into the other, and the unit is ready to use. An integral cable tie bracket is included for the power supply, designed to eliminate inadvertent disconnection, thus minimizing potential problems with the network. All models of the AT-FS210 series support both 10 Mbps Ethernet and 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet, in either half or full duplex modes. Auto-negotiating to either speed guarantees compatibility with all user connected equipment.
