The AT-WA3404 wireless access point is designed for both small office and home users. Its incorporated 4-port switch allows an unmatched flexibility integrating in a plug-and-play solution all the networking requirements of a typical SOHO deployment. With an operating range over 1800 feet it can also be deployed in a wired and wireless network. Plug-and-play compatibility with Allied Telesis' AT-WCL007, AT-WCL460, AT-WCL452 for laptops and desktop workstations allows all types of users access to the wireless network. The AT-WA3404 uses industry-standard IEEE 802.11b, supporting up to 11 Mpbs data rates. With a sleek, professional design and weight of less than eight ounces, the AT-WA3404 is designed for easy integration in home and small office environments. The AT-WA3404 provides mobility not found in traditional wired networks, freeing users to operate their laptop anywhere within the covered area. Frequent changes to the layout of an office impose added cost and facility resources for installing new wired conduit and network cabling. The AT-WA3404 simplifies this process and allows for more flexibility in expanding locations. The integrated 4-port switch reduces the number of networking appliances boosting simplicity and flexibility. Sites not conducive to LAN wiring, such as older, or temporary buildings, are now able to provide a level of network access not previously available. Instead of using traditional cabling to create a network, this 11Mbps wireless LAN technology provides efficient, reliable wireless communication between multiple computers, appliances, and the Internet.
