The EMA 16000 is the member of the Modular Array Storage family of fully integrated Fiber Channel storage solutions that support Compaq universal drives in the StorageWorks modular enclosure architecture. The modular enclosure architecture is the outgrowth of years of StorageWorks experience, successfully delivering quality storage solutions for applications with mission-critical requirements. The EMA16000 complements the EMA12000 storage solution by creating a new high-density package that increases the storage footprint but maintains the support of the HSG80 controller (and associated features), the benefits of universal drive support, higher density disk drives, and flexible configurations. The EMA 16000 is designed for the data center where there is a need to configure high-capacity systems having specific demands for high performance. The EMA 16000 components offer the flexibility to configure solutions to provide unlimited capacity and scalable performance in a small footprint. The solutions include features for multi-vendor operating environments, and stringent data center availability requirements. Configure-to-Order is available for the creation of made-to-order solutions using the modular storage components.
