The Compaq 4.7-GB DVD+R/+RW Drive and the DVD+R and DVD+RW media deliver a complete solution for high quality video, audio, and interactive DVD multimedia playable on most set-top DVD players and DVD-ROM drives. Designed for recording digital video and archiving data, the drive writes and reads CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+R, and DVD+RW media. Users can record, erase, and re-record on the same DVD+RW disc up to 1, 000 times. The DVD+R/+RW disc holds up to 4.7-GB of information. The Compaq DVD+R/+RW Drive is ideal for videographer, corporate, education, government, and traditional entertainment and media customers. The Compaq 4.7-GB DVD+R/+RW Drive writes data at a rate of DVD 2.4X (3250 KB/s, or roughly 21 times the rate of a CD-ROM drive). After recording, DVD+R discs can be read at the same rate as commercially replicated discs. These transfer rates, combined with the capacity of the DVD+R disc, extensive compatibility, and conformance to worldwide DVD standards, make the Compaq 4.7-GB DVD+R/+RW Drive and the DVD+R and DVD+RW media a highly efficient and cost-effective storage solution. The option kit for the 4.7-GB DVD+R/+RW includes the drive and the DVD+R and DVD+RW media, as well as the Sonic MyDVD authoring software and Roxio Easy CD Creator optimized for entry-level professional and corporate videography applications. The DVD authoring software included in the DVD+R/+RW option kit offers ease of use with its drag-and-drop capability and also brings the creation of menu buttons and links to audio and video content. The software also enables quick and easy mastery of the DVD media's directory structure.
