The Compaq NC3122 Dual Port Fast Ethernet Network Interface Controller (NIC) provides a low cost dual port solution for workgroup to enterprise class servers that need the increased server availability, performance, and network connection redundancy provided by this NIC. The NC3122 is based on Intel 82558 Fast Ethernet ASIC, and delivers driver compatibility with both Compaq and Intel drivers. This commonality of driver eases the burden of standardization of software drivers and allows an easy transition from Ethernet to Fast Ethernet to Bonded Fast Ethernet without having to change the NIC or operating system driver. The dual ports enable users to take advantage of multiple 10/100 ports without having to take up a second server slot. This allows the user to make better use of systems resources while increasing available network connections and network performance. The NC3122 auto-senses between 10 or 100 Mbps and auto negotiates between half or full duplex upon connection.
