Compaq Carbon Copy 32 Version 5.0 enables those away from their computers, such as professionals who travel or work at home, to call in from another computer and access files, databases, the Internet, and email. Carbon Copy LAN, for Local Area Networks, communicates with and takes control of a remote or Host PC remote over a TCP/IP or IPX network connection only. The LAN version is ideal for support professionals and for employees who are receiving support over a network environment. The LAN version can be installed on either the help desk professional's PC or the employee's PC. Carbon Copy LAN eliminates the need to sit directly at a user's PC to check on a problem. A support professional can remotely access any PC from his/her desk and make changes instantly or transfer important software updates and patches. Help desk support people can use the product to walk a client through a problem while seeing the problem on their own computer. System administrators have a window into the computer of each person on a network and can fix problems or set up access on the server for each client without physically having to be at that computer.
