The DFE-856 transceiver has a UTP port and SC fiber port, and is useful for connecting a remote PC to a small workgroup or connecting a workgroup to a fiber backbone. With the ability to provide connection at distances up to 2km the DFE-856 is a cost-effective solution for connections in fiber networks.
