Dantz Retrospect Server Backup provides the power to restore either a single file or an entire hard disk for any computer on your network. There is no better protection for the AppleShare and Mac OS X Servers, desktops, and notebooks on your network. Install Dantz Retrospect on any Macintosh computer with a storage device. Install the included client software on up to 100 additional computers (or more with Retrospect Clients packs, available separately) and back up everyone over the network. Installation is quick and easy because Dantz Retrospect automatically recognizes and configures itself for your backup device. Dantz's patented Backup Server technology turns Retrospect into an intelligent data protection tool. Use Backup Server to scan your network, searching for computers that need to be backed up. Notebooks are recognized and backed up automatically, whenever they connect to the LAN. Dantz Retrospect makes it easy to restore individual files, folders or an entire hard drive in a single operation - even after multiple new-and-changed-file backups. Restores are fast and accurate. Live restores allow you to "roll back" a Mac workstation or even an entire Mac OS X Server to any previous backup. Simply restore right over the currently booted operating system and restart. New-and-changed-file backups save time, media, and network bandwidth. And having several complete backup sets is essential for data security. But other backup programs that rely on archive attributes can't combine incremental backups with multiple backup sets. Only Dantz Retrospect supports progressive, new-and-changed-file backups to multiple complete backup sets, so you can do a full restore from any set. The only way to be completely confident that your files are backed up accurately is with true verification. While some other backup applications scan the file headers or just trust the storage device, Dantz Retrospect rereads the original files and compares them to the stored files, byte for byte.
