The Epson GT-9500 Professional 36-Bit Color Scanner is the latest addition to the range of Epson Hi-Resolution Color Scanners, which includes the Epson GT-8500 Versatile 30-Bit Color Scanner and the Epson GT-5000 Essential 24-Bits Color Scanner. Intended for discerning users from design professionals to general business desktop publishers, the easy-to-use Epson GT-9500 will produce high quality scans, one after another. The true measure of a scanner is how well it handles highlight and shadow details. Inside the new Epson GT-9500, is a 36-bit 600 dpi engine that offers interpolation up to 4800 dpi. It records more details and colors to produce scans of impeccable highlight and shadow details. A good scanner will accurately reproduce the original: a great scanner will improve on it. Under or over-exposed photographs, even pictures printed on uneven stock, will find a new lease of life, courtesy of the Epson GT-9500. Thanks to the new advanced color CCD sensor; you can count on excellent images, scans after scans after scans. TET (Text Enhancement Technology) and AAS (Auto Area Segmentation) are two powerful proprietary Epson firmware developed for greater OCR accuracy and built into the Epson GT-9500. TET works by isolating background colors and noise from text printed on colored backgrounds. AAS scans the composite document and distinguish graphics from text elements. It then processes the graphics with halftone technology, while text is converted to crisp binary images. The new EpsonScan! II Utility makes using the Epson GT-9500 a breeze. Intuitive and user friendly, even the novice will be able to produce scans with stunning results in no time. Scanning negatives is easier now than ever with the Epson GT-9500. The Auto-Reversal feature of the Preview function allows users to size up the negative-oriented images in glorious positive mode for pre-scanning adjustments. The Epson GT-9500 is Twain compliant. Supporting both Windows and Mac OS, independently or simultaneously, it is the ideal scanner in mixed platform environment. While many cross platform scanners provide only a SCSI interface, the Epson GT-9500 allows PC users to connect through a Bi-directional Parallel interface and Mac users through the SCSI interface. The Trasparency Unit will enable the Epson GT-9500 to scan positive and negative films, while the 300-pages Automatic Document Feeder transform it into an OCR workhorse.
