This Fiber Channel switching option for the IBM eServer BladeCenter integrates an enterprise fabric into the BladeCenter architecture. It provides higher bandwidth connectivity (up to 24Gbps full duplex) between BladeCenter's server blades and storage area networks (SANs) as well as enhanced connectivity through higher port count. This expanded connectivity presents a diskless storage opportunity for the server architecture. It is ideal for customers who need to integrate BladeCenter into existing SANs. This switch module provides connectivity to up to 239 fabric switches and is ideal for larger SAN fabrics. This SAN fabric switch delivers the advanced functions, performance, manageability and scalability required by the most demanding SANs.
