The Intel 8100 ST router incorporates all the sophisticated features of the Express Router family. It supports easy Internet access, highly secure VPNs and cost-effective general WAN routing. But by tailoring bandwidth, user links and WAN protocols to the simpler network environment of a branch office, it offers a more cost-effective solution for remote locations. Installation is exceptionally easy. No console connection is required, because Intel Device View for Windows integrates all configuration, management and troubleshooting tasks into one easy-to-use interface. It includes a Setup Wizard for automated configuration and a Recovery Wizard for quickly restoring network connections. It also provides default configuration of firewalling features, so you don't have to be an expert to safeguard your LAN from unauthorized access. The benefits of Intel's expertise in silicon design is particularly evident in the Express 8100 Router. With an Intel i960 microprocessor and an Intel 82557 network controller, both the LAN and WAN interfaces are optimized for maximum throughput and reliability. And 4Mb of Intel Flash Memory not only helps to make this router easier to use, but easier to upgrade as well using the software upgrade wizard.
