MarkNet X2000 External Print Servers support multiple features to ensure fast and efficient installation including: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP); the ability to sense cable type and network speed automatically; remote configuration through MarkVision or the MarkNet resident Web server. In addition, Lexmark Network Plug and Print brings one step installation to enterprise Microsoft NT and UNIX servers. MarkVision is today's most powerful printer management package. With MarkVision it is so easy to set-up, manage and maintain network printers thereby reducing help-desk costs whilst increasing productivity and availability. Based on an alert driven protocol, network traffic is minimized whilst maintaining rich function. Support is provided in all major networking environments as well as providing support for non-Lexmark printers via SNMP when attached using non Lexmark print servers. The MarkNet Resident Web Server provides a quick and easy way to configure, upgrade and monitor Lexmark print servers on your network. By simply pointing your favorite web browser at the print server you can check current printer status, view configuration settings and use customizable "intelligent" links to Lexmark's web site or a site on your companies Intranet. MarkNet X2000 external print servers are the LAN administrator's ideal choice for high-performance throughput. High speed RISC processors speed print jobs to printers in seconds on all major networking topologies including Ethernet 100BaseTx. Performance is enhanced with high-speed bi-directional (ECP IEEE 1284-compliant) parallel ports. The MarkNet X2000 allows direct connection of virtually any brand of printer (not just Lexmark) through its parallel and/or serial ports - perfect for a multi - vendor environment. Up to three printers can be supported simultaneously including dot matrix, inkjet or lasers. Also Lexmark's multi-protocol, multi-operating system support makes the MarkNet X2000 compatible with virtually all major network environments.
