In the fast-paced Internet economy, success depends on being able to cross network barriers and share vital information throughout your enterprise and with your business partners and customers. To do this you need to be able to securely integrate and share identity information among different applications, directories and network platforms. DirXML 1.1, Novell's innovative application-integration and data-synchronization solution, works with your existing network infrastructure to automatically distribute new and updated information from any directory, application or database across all of your directories, applications and databases. With DirXML, the identity information in all of your data repositories can be simply updated and instantly synchronized. Why is synchronization important? It means that you only have to enter information once into a specified application or directory for it to be identically reflected across your entire network. For companies with multiple directories, DirXML 1.1 synchronization significantly reduces manual labor, minimizes opportunities for human error, consistently applies business rules and saves money otherwise spent on redundant data management. DirXML 1.1 is a cross-platform product that combines the power of Novell eDirectory with the flexibility of Extensible Markup Language (XML). Designed with eBusiness enterprises in mind, DirXML can even work beyond your firewall, updating information in databases shared with customers, partners and suppliers. With DirXML 1.1, administration has been simplified. DirXML drivers can now be hosted on a server separate from eDirectory and the DirXML engine. This capability extends DirXML's cross-platform support, beyond the platforms supported by eDirectory. This feature also allows administrators to better balance the load among servers and mitigates the potential for a single point of failure. In addition, enhanced rule handling has streamlined the configuration of rules that control policy-based data sharing and synchronization. This means you can reduce the time it takes to build unique naming policies into DirXML, thus accelerating rollout and cost savings. In addition log errors appear according to specified DirXML functions, such as subscriber channel, publisher channel and driver set, so you can recognize error trends and solve problems faster than before.
