This compact powerhouse offers flexibility plus capacity. Now IT professionals can build huge server storage capacities with up to four low-cost, high-capacity Ultra ATA drives over 137GB each while saving a bundle. The internal RAID host adapter uses a powerful RISC processor, hardware-based XOR engine, and cache memory to handle all critical I/O and RAID parity functions while maintaining peak server performance. Using the compact 1U-high UltraTrak RM4000 means you're never maxed out. Users can add extra drives to a fault-tolerant array at any time to increase capacity without taking units offline. RAID levels can also be converted or expanded on the fly without losing fault tolerance. Stop worrying about system compatibility issues, too. RM4000, like all other UltraTrak subsystems, appears as standard SCSI device so it is recognized by major network operating systems without additional drivers. And like other SCSI devices, you can daisy chain multiple RM4000 units per SCSI channel for increased storage capacity. A push-button controlled setup with LCD display provides complete array handling features and internal array monitoring that can operate independently of the operating system making RM4000 an ideal match for any rackmount server.
