Sony's Backup Appliance BA-1200 is a central network data protection system dedicated to the backup of your critical business data. However, in addition to the immediate practicality offered by the BA-800 and BA-1600, it provides extra flexibility that is most commonly required in larger network environments. The advantage for your business is that the StorStation BA-1200 can be tailored for your specific requirements. It offers support for popular backup applications from Veritas, CA, BakBone, Legato and Dantz. Also, backup software providing, it will reduce your backup/restore window through the use of 'staging'. Staging allows backed up data to be stored online (onto disk) before being stored offline (onto tape). Offering easy connection to 10/100baseT or Gigabit networks, there is no need for any additional interface cards or cables as all necessary hardware is provided. The network attached head unit offers 400GB of disk capacity, with the secondary storage device enabling tape capacity up to 800GB (native). This is the total solution ensuring up to 1200GB of data storage for your network. Sleek and stylish, the BA-1200 is ideal for 19" rackmount environments, using only 2U of rackspace.
