The WebBlocker option for the WatchGuard SOHO and SOHOtc provides a powerful web usage control management tool for the small or home office. WebBlocker helps you to ensure that web usage complies with corporate or home acceptable use policies. WebBlocker checks all outbound HTTP requests against a list of blocked sites and will deny attempts to access these sites. Filtering is transparent to users unless they attempt to visit a Web site that has been blocked by the rules set up in your WatchGuard SOHO or SOHOtc's configuration. Web access to objectionable material can be denied based on a database of categorized Web sites maintained by Learning Company's Cyber Patrol and updated regularly. Upon configuration of the WatchGuard SOHO or SOHOtc, administrators have the option of creating a password for overriding WebBlocker if necessary. Whenever access to a particular Web site is denied, the user is prompted for a password. This allows them to turn off WebBlocker for the amount of time specified in their configuration. This option is especially useful for WatchGuard SOHOs placed in a home office environment in which employees and family members may be sharing the same Internet connection.
