A Philips' widescreen TV has been named TV of the Year by the European Imaging and Sound Association. It's one of the best on the market today' said the EISA judging panel - which represents 40 leading audio and video magazines in 19 countries across Europe. They were talking about the 32PW9616 Real Flat 100Hz set, which combines advanced video and audio technology to create 'an astonishingly realistic home cinema experience'. The award-winning set is one of the flagships of Philips' range of Home Cinema products, which has everything you need for maximum home cinema enjoyment: big pictures, big sounds and exciting sources. The 32PW9616 comes with an open-design stand that can house a VCR, and a set-top box or a DVD-Video player and up to 30 discs. All these are operated by a single remote control, which can also handle your satellite receiver, tuner, and CD recorder or player. Once the TV is tuned it, Philips' EasyLink system will automatically download the same order of channels on the VCR. And if a change is made to the TV presets, the VCR presets change, too. The 32PW9616 is crammed with a whole host of features to produce the best-possible viewing experience. Digital Crystal Clear significantly improves picture quality by combining technologies, including Dynamic Contrast, which analyzes pictures 50 times a second to constantly maintain optimum contrast, a Combfilter to eliminate disturbing cross-color effects, Luminance Transient Improvement for even clearer brightness transitions, and color enhancement to give brilliant, faithful color reproduction of all kinds of pictures. Along with Digital Crystal Clear, the 32PW9616 includes a number of processes to deliver improved sharpness with superior noise reduction. In particular, 10-bit digital signal resolution processing ensures that digital noise reduction leaves the picture as natural as possible. Philips has created Active Control to tackle the need for TVs to display material from a variety of sources and delivery platforms (including broadcasts, DVD-video, set-top boxes and games platforms). This ensures the best possible picture quality under all conditions by analyzing key picture elements and dynamically correcting noise reduction, sharpness, contrast and color enhancement levels.
