There are two types of Wi-Fi components in a wireless network: APs (access points) are expensive standalone devices that act as base stations to connect various computers wirelessly; and Client devices such as add-on cards for desktops or PC cards for notebooks. The WiFi-b combined the two for a cost-effective solution. On the one hand it is an add-on card that links your desktop to existing APs. On the other hand, it bundles ASUS Software AP to turn your system into the base station of a wireless network.
