Compaq Deskpro 52X TrueX CD-ROM Drive is an economical high-capacity desktop backup solution. It features Blazing 52X speed, transfer rates of 6750 KB/s to 7800 KB/s (compared to 2550 KB/s to 6000 KB/s for a 40X CD-ROM Drive), noticeably lower noise level due to slower rotational speed, improved readability and Zen technology. TrueX is a revolutionary technology developed by Zen to split the CD drive's laser beam into seven beams to read seven times the surface with each rotation. Because the drive reads so much more of the media with each rotation, the drive achieves a much higher data transfer rate. Also, the drive can spin at a much slower rate (still achieving a significant improvement in the transfer rate) which improves the readability and reduces the noise of the drive.
