The ND-3520 is the second-generation 16x DVD re-writer. The model delivers both plus and minus dual layer recording at 4x and improves on the RW functionality of its predecessor, the NEC ND3500. It offers RW speeds of 8x for plus and 6x for minus to ensure superb performance across both formats. Incorporating patented NEC technology, this device provides a high-speed, high capacity, reliable solution for a wide range of applications, from backing up MP3s and videos to storage for large PC data files. Because it supports all available DVD and CD formats it offers the ultimate flexibility, enabling users to select the media most appropriate to them without compromising on performance or capacity. The drive enables 1 hour of DVD Video to be recorded in just 6 minutes, and allows users to store up to 8.5 GB onto one DVD disk (or 700 MB on a CD disc). The ND-3520 incorporates NEC's 'high resolution writing strategy' and 'Active Optimized Power Control' (Active OPC) to enhance the quality of written data.
