The TSL-A500C autoloader utilizes a compact 4-cartridge magazine with a unique push mechanism tape transport. The magazine design delivers reliable automated tape handling while reducing the typical mis-grip issues associated with other tape transport technologies. And with up to 130 GB of data storage per AIT-2 data cartridge (with 2.6: 1 compression) you can store up to 520 GB in a single compact device. Sony AIT tape drives incorporate redesigned head geometry, reducing head / tape pressure and delivering up to 50, 000 hours of head life.
